Dato’ Choy Wai Hin Prize

At the 4th edition of the Peninsular Guitar Ensemble’s three-day event, taking place in June 2026, an exciting new highlight will be introduced: a guitar competition, replacing the previous complimentary workshop by a seasoned performer.

The PGE Malaysia Classical Guitar Competition, held as part of the festival and under the artistic direction of Ms Hong Tee, proudly presents a prestigious cash award — the Dato’ Choy Wai Hin Prize, named in honor of its generous sponsor. Dato’ Choy Wai Hin’s strong support and dedication to the local classical guitar community are widely recognized and deeply appreciated.

Through this initiative, we aim to inspire and nurture the next generation of classical guitarists in Malaysia.
